My True Colors was the color gold and the job I was assigned to is a front office manager. First I felt this job title did not really fit me and was austere but once I opened my mind to the possibility of what a front office manager dose and how important their job is it did not seem so bad. As a front office manager your department is to impress and be kind to others. You are the first and last impression that a guest to the hotel see, so it's your job to ensure it's a good one. People depend on front office mangers to get things done and be ready for any task. Front office managers are known for their positive impact on guests and great customer service skills. On the top of the list of responsibilities for a front office manager it is to make sure your receptionists on the front desk are well-trained, friendly and offer a warm welcome and speedy, efficient check-in and check-out service for guest. Their duties are to controlling the availability of rooms and the day-to-day functions of the front office, such as handling guest arrival or departure and information requests. A front office manager also assists them with the handling of their baggage and is in charge of the check-in and check-out of whole groups and tours. You might need many skills but you need to have the bases such as good telephone skills, the ability to multitask and manage your time, and lastly ready to make fearful decision. Although they make roughly about 20,000 to 29,000 a year it also depending on the location and style of hotel their salary are not very mesmerize but it a start. The typically hours for a front office manager is about 35 to 40 hours weekly that is a fair amount of hours especially for those who have families at homes.” You prefer a work environment where duties responsibilities and line of authority are clearly defined" the true color result fit me and my personality I am a hard worker, punctual, and could take jurisdiction over a room because of my out spoken ways. I love the way it said if I fail at plan “A” I always got a plan “B”. Perhaps when you get years of experience maybe a front office manager isn't a bad way to go. You should really think about it.
